In Flanders, a distinction is made between new construction projects, major renovation projects and existing buildings:

• New construction : Parking lots with 2 or more spaces are required to provide basic infrastructure for all spaces.
• Major renovation : Car parks with more than 10 spaces must also provide basic infrastructure for all spaces.
• Existing building : There are no obligations for this yet

In Brussels, it was decided to provide a charging point in the parking lot of residents who indicate that they drive an electric car from 1 January 2025. For more questions about this, Brussels Environment offers free advice through the Charging Infrastructure Facilitator.
